Buffalo-based Hart Hotels Inc. has opened its third high-end Harbor Hotel with its newest facility in the Thousand Islands region of northern New York in partnership with The Krog Corp. of Orchard Park.
Located in Clayton, N.Y., on the St. Lawrence River, the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel features 105 guest rooms and suites – many with river views and patios – and the Seaway Grille restaurant, a bar and a riverside patio. The hotel includes more than 6,000 square feet of conference and banquet space, with a grand ballroom, breakout rooms and a riverside “pre-function” area. It also offers a concierge service, an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, and a fitness center.
Designed by NH Architecture and built with a state economic development grant and county tax breaks, the hotel will serve couples, business professionals, conferences, destination weddings, avid boaters and tour groups. Like the company’s other two Harbor Hotels in Watkins Glen and in Portland, Maine, the new hotel will seek AAA Four Diamond accreditation.
“The 1000 Islands region is a very popular destination,” said David Hart, president and CEO of Hart Hotels, which operates 11 hotels, including five in the Buffalo area. “Clayton is known as one of America’s best small towns; it is the perfect spot for the hotel.”
