Dunkin’ Donuts is giving away one free doughnut of the customer’s choice with the purchase of any beverage.
At Tim Hortons, guests will receive one free doughnut with any purchase, as long as they say “Happy National Donut Day” when they order.
Famous Doughnuts at 3043 Main St. in Buffalo, is giving away a free doughnut with any purchase.
Mazurek’s Bakery, which has locations at 543 South Park Ave. and at 617 Main Street in the Market Arcade, is slashing 50 percent off the price of all doughnut prices from 7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Tops Friendly Markets has offering a free six-pack of doughnuts for every six-pack of purchased doughnuts through Saturday.

The Salvation Army established the first National Doughnut Day in 1938 as a fundraising effort during the Great Depression. Salvation Army officers also made and served doughnuts to soldiers on the front lines during World War II.
