First Niagara Financial Group has reactivated its online and mobile banking systems, after fixing a technical problem that led the bank to temporarily shut down the services earlier Tuesday.
“Our customer contact team will continue to reach out to impacted customers to answer any additional questions they may have,” said Oliver Hays, a First Niagara spokesman, in a statement.
Hays said customers’ accounts are now up to date and that no fees will be assessed to customers that stemmed from the error.
First Niagara had suspended its online and mobile banking Tuesday after discovering problems with transaction files that were processed overnight. The error had caused disruptions to automatic Social Security deposits, among other transactions.
