Delaware North Cos.’ annual corporate food and beverage summit – a gathering of the company’s main vendors and its managers from far-flung places – will begin today in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. The event attracts more than 700 people from around the country and the world, including about 330 food and beverage industry representatives promoting 150 companies.

Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine, host of the Food Network’s “Restaurant: Impossible,” will address the summit at 9 a.m. Thursday.

The event’s goal is to showcase the latest food industry products and services to a company that provides food service to parks, sports stadiums and other venues in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand, and, in 2014, Singapore.

It’s the fifth consecutive year the event is being held in Buffalo.
