UB offers training

A certificate program for mid-level professionals entitled “Becoming a Leader in the Life Sciences” is being offered by the University at Buffalo’s Millard Fillmore College, UB’s Division of Continuing and Professional Studies.

Designed for graduate-degree students and mid-level professionals who now work, or are interested in working, in the life sciences industry, the four-session evening class will cover topics on the development and regulatory approval of new products, as well as management, development and corporate culture issues in the life sciences.

The class will meet on Wednesdays, from 6 p. m. to 8:30 p. m., Sept. 16 to Nov. 4. Tuition is $249, which includes all class materials and is underwritten by partial funding from the New York State Department of Labor. Registration deadline is Sept. 11, and class size in limited. The instructor is Eric Cornavaca, co-founder and partner of Buffalo BioSciences.

The course, which is worth two continuing education credits, is offered in cooperation with Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences. Classes will meet at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, 701 Ellicott Street.
