The Wyoming County Community Health System named Dr. James Wawrzyniak president of the board of managers for 2010. Wawrzyniak is a practicing doctor of chiropractic and served as councilman for the Town of Bennington for 18 years. Other officers: vice president, David Almeter, adjunct history professor at Genesee Community College; and secretary, Janet Miller, retired from Plato Brook Farms.

CORE101, a Western New York Web development company, named Nicholas J. Primerano account manager. Primerano has previously served as editor for The Bee Group Newspapers, marketing coordinator for White Directory Publishers and managed the marketing efforts for the local Gold’s Gym Buffalo franchises.

Nussbaumer and Clarke, Consulting Engineering and Surveying of Buffalo announced that Shawn Meegan has passed his Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. Meegan joined the firm’s Civil Engineering Department in March of 2009 as an engineer level 1.

AAA Western and Central New York was named the winner of the 2009 Disney Club of the Year for best marketing plan, follow-through and success for mid-sized AAA clubs.

Chaintreuil Jensen Stark Architects, IBC Engineering, Sustainable Performance Consulting, Jensen Engineering, and Erdman and Anthony helped design and build the newly completed Rochester Institute of Technology’s University Services Center, which just received the LEED 2.2 Platinum designation from the US Green Building Council, the highest designation of sustainability.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center was granted regulatory approval from the state Department of Health and the state Office of Mental Health to open its new third floor Behavioral Health Unit, the first of two new units that will be opening this year.

Contributing

National Grid contributed $100,000 to The American Red Cross to support relief efforts to the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti. The company also will match all employee donations to the American Red Cross for Haiti through the end of February.
