Hires/Promotions/ Honors
PSI, an independent engineering and testing and consulting engineering firm, promoted Steven Pump to branch manager of the company’s Tonawanda operations office and special project manager for its CVS Distribution Center Special Project. Pump is a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Building Controls and Services named Curtis Wood an automation technician in the company’s Jamestown office. BCS is a Tonawandabased provider of mechanical HVAC automated environmental controls systems and services.
Brock, Schechter and Polakoff staff accountant Katherine E. Hokenson recently earned certified public accountant designation from New York State. A Canisius College accounting graduate, Hokenson joined the firm in September 2009.
Young Audiences of Western New York promoted Cynnie Gaasch to executive director of the local nonprofit arts-in-education organization. Gaasch joined the organization in 2003, leaving in 2005 to found Cynnie Gaasch Grant Writing and Consulting. She is a graduate of Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., and earned a MFA from American University in Washington, D. C.

Gowanda Electronics, a manufacturer of high performance inductors and other precision electronic components for RF and power applications, installed two cleanrooms at the company’s production and engineering facilities in Gowanda. The two cleanrooms are Class 100,000 but they can be upgraded to Class 10,000 as needed to meet customer requirements.
Barden Building Systems, a Middleport- headquartered panelized package supplier, received the Presentation of Home Plans Award in the 2010 BSC Excellence in Home Design and Marketing Awards program. The honor was awarded by the Building Systems Councils of the National Association of Home Builders, a trade association that represents the concrete, log, modular, and panelized building industries, at its annual awards program recently.
Dresser-Rand Group Technology Center in Olean, was awarded LEED Gold certification as established by the U. S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute. LEED is a national pre-eminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
