The Buffalo Bisons are featured in a new national television commercial for AT&T’s 3G network that started airing this week.

The 30-second commercial follows a fictional player who has been promoted to the Bisons and must race to the ballpark for his first game. The player uses his phone for directions for his cab driver and then accesses Bisons. com to prove to an usher that he is on the team.

The commercial was filmed at Lake Elsinore Diamond in California, home of the Lake Elsinore Storm. But Buffalo is clearly visible on the player’s jersey throughout the ad, said Christopher Hill, Bisons director of sales. “Our logo is prominent in almost every scene.”

AT&T has been a sponsor of the Bisons for more than 10 years, and that connection helped when the company was seeking a team for the ad, Hill said. The ad can be seen at the team’s Web site, bisons.com.
