The Buffalo law firm Damon Morey appointed Richard D. Yellen special counsel. Yellen, who previously operated his own practice, has practiced law in Buffalo for more than 45 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his LLB from Columbia University.

Bouvier Partnership senior partner Peter Martin was presented with the “Striving for Excellence” award by the Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled recently. Martin has served as legal counsel and advocate for the agency.

The University at Buffalo appointed Mark Vogelzang interim general manager of WBFO 88.7 FM, the college’s NPR member. Vogelzang, a longtime member of the National Public Radio board of directors, most recently worked on interim assignment at NPR in Washington, D. C., and is the former president of Vermont Public Radio. UB named WBFO’s current general manager, Carole Smith Petro, associate vice president in the college’s Office of Economic Engagement.

Carmina Wood Morris, a Buffalo architectural firm, appointed George

W. Spears project manager and clerk of the works for Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority projects. Spears received his master’s degree in architecture from the University of Detroit and has more than 25 years of architectural experience in the Buffalo area. Also, the firm named Daniel Blamowski and Pamela Bailey Timby associates. Blamowski will serve as transportation manager. He graduated from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Timbly, director of Interior Design and Planning, has been with the firm since it’s inception in 2001. She obtained degrees from Cazenovia College and Syracuse University.

Weinberg Campus chief financial officer Robert Mayer was recently selected by The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging as a member of its Leadership Fellowship Program. The program is designed to augment the ranks of emerging leaders in the care and services for the aging and address the shortage of potential leaders nationwide. The year-long curriculum will be focused on advancing emerging leaders, encouraging innovation and a person-centered approach for residents, clients and staff members.
