Sabres to hold development camp

Story tools:

The Buffalo Sabres will hold their summer development camp next Monday through Friday at Niagara University's Dwyer Arena, with on-ice sessions open to the public Tuesday thru Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the team announced Thursday in a press release.

There are 41 players scheduled to attend, including Nathan Gerbe, Tim Kennedy and Chris Butler. Also in attendance will be Zack Kassian, Buffalo's first-round draft pick (13th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis, Buffalo's first-round selections in the 2008 Entry Draft, will also be attending.

The players will take part in both on-ice and off-ice workouts with the goal of learning the fundamental ideas of the Sabres playing system and the conditioning programs of an NHL player, the team said.
