WEST NYACK, N.Y. (AP) — A Rockland County man is accused of sexually abusing a woman at a group home and then trying to blow up the building with the victim and 12 other people inside.
A 23-count indictment charged Ethan Jimenez-Colon with attempted rape, multiple sexual abuse and attempted murder.
The Journal News (http://lohud.us/1nFWWTN ) says Colon lived at the West Nyack home for adults with developmental disabilities with 10 residents and three staff members.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that Colon entered the woman's room on May 28 and May 29 and sexually abused her.
Prosecutors say he then turned on the gas burners in the kitchen and ignited the oven in an attempt to cause an explosion.
He's being held without bail pending arraignment. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
