KEENE VALLEY, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a 79-year-old New York City man who died in a car crash near his Adirondack home suffered a heart attack just before the accident.
Troopers tell the Press-Republican of Plattsburgh (http://bit.ly/1cBzCWD ) that an autopsy revealed Michael Curran died from multiple traumatic injuries that resulted when his vehicle hit a utility pole and a tree along Route 73 in the Essex County hamlet of Keene Valley.
Tuesday night's crash injured Curran's 65-year-old wife, Jeanne Warner. She's being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital in Burlington, Vt.
Troopers say there's no indication Curran took evasive action before the collision.
A former associate says Curran and Warner were retired Chase Manhattan Bank executives who have a second home in Keene. Warner also taught finance and commercial banking at St. John's University in Queens.
