NEW YORK (AP) — Police say officers shot a 30-year-old man in the arm after he got out of an SUV with a handgun during a traffic stop in Harlem.
It happened at 125th Street and 12th Avenue just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say drug task force officers pulled a vehicle over and opened fire when a front passenger got out armed with a gun. It wasn't clear how many shots were fired.
The suspect was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was treated and released. Police say charges are pending against him. Four others also have been taken into custody.
A .40 caliber Taurus handgun was recovered at the scene.
