WASHINGTON (AP) The Phi Beta Sigma fraternity is holding its centennial celebration in Washington.

Thursday marks 100 years since Phi Beta Sigma was founded at Howard University in Washington.

The fraternity is holding a gala celebration at a hotel in Washington on Saturday. Actor Harry Belafonte will be the keynote speaker, and the gala will also include a videotaped message from former President Bill Clinton.

The evening's honorees will include Georgia Congressman John Lewis, a Democrat, and civil rights activist Al Sharpton.
