NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a 27-year-old caregiver has been arrested in connection with the death of a boy who was found in his midtown Manhattan home showing signs of repeated abuse.
Police said Thursday Kryzie King was arrested on charges of assault and reckless endangerment. It wasn't clear if she had a lawyer.
Authorities say King told police on Wednesday that 4-year-old Myls Dobson had tumbled off the bathroom counter into an empty bathtub while she was briefly in another room. But police say the boy had been burned by cigarettes and had wounds on his torso and his private parts.
Authorities say the boy had been staying with the woman after his mother lost custody and his father was jailed. The medical examiner's office will determine a cause of death.
