NEW YORK (AP) — The NYPD is looking for a man who pushed a police officer down the stairs of a subway station while officers attempted to arrest him.
Police say the incident occurred last Friday at the Hoyt-Fulton station in Brooklyn.
They say police were attempting to place the suspect under arrest for stealing sneakers from a store when he punched the officer in the face and pushed him down the stairs.
The officer suffered injuries to the head, back, hand and right arm. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.
Police released surveillance photos of the suspect and asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
