HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they've have in custody a man who was reportedly suicidal and armed with a gun while walking near a suburban Rochester school.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets Thursday morning that the 48-year-old man was found alive in the town of Henrietta, just south of Rochester.
Authorities say the search began overnight after they received a report of a suicidal man with a gun in the area of Burger Middle School in West Henrietta.
The Rush-Henrietta Central School District delayed the opening of all schools by two hours while sheriff's deputies and state police searched for the man.
Police say more information will be released later Thursday.
