HOLBROOK, N.Y. (AP) A Long Island man accused of stealing packages from neighbors' doorsteps has been arrested.

Suffolk County police say Jaquan Casserly was arrested Thursday after residents observed him and another man stealing packages at the Woodgate Village condominium complex in Holbrook.

Police say a neighbor detained Casserly until police arrived. They say officers located numerous stolen items and empty packaging nearby.

Police say additional recovered goods were found discarded in the rear of the complex.

Casserly was charged with five counts of stolen property. It wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

The investigation is continuing.
