NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police have arrested a man who discharged his gun while resisting arrest. No one was hit.
It occurred Thursday in Brooklyn while plain clothed officers were investigating a report of a man armed with a gun.
Police entered the lobby of the Red Hook Houses where they observed the suspect leaving the building.
Police say officers followed him and identified themselves after observing him adjust his waistband. As they tried to stop him, police say he began to resist and pulled out a revolver. He alleged fired one shot but it didn't hit anyone. The weapon was recovered at the scene.
Police charged the suspect, Calvin Randall, with attempted murder, attempted assault on a police officer and other charges. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
