SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old man has been arraigned on second-degree murder charges for fatally shooting a man during a vehicle chase in Schenectady last month.
Prosecutors tell local media outlets that Nicholas Khan was picked up by police on a drug charge on Nov. 14, two days after 24-year-old William Riddick was killed while driving near a middle school.
Officials say Khan was in a car chasing Riddick's vehicle when he fired the fatal shots. Riddick's car crashed through a fence around a field at the school after he was shot.
Prosecutors say the shooting apparently stemmed from an earlier robbery involving the two men.
Khan was arraigned in Schenectady City Court on Tuesday.
