PHOENIX (AP) A man is being held on $500,000 bond in a wrong-way freeway crash in Phoenix that killed a New York woman last month.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 27-year-old Benjamin Charles Kuzelka was arraigned Friday on charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, endangerment, aggravated DUI and criminal damage.

Kuzelka, of Phoenix, was arrested Thursday after being released from a hospital. He was recovering from injuries sustained in the Oct. 6 accident that killed 55-year-old Mary A. Boysman of Oswego, N.Y.

DPS officials say Boysman was a passenger in an SUV that was struck head-on by a vehicle driving in the wrong direction on State Route 51. The driver of the SUV was seriously injured and hospitalized for days.

Kuzelka doesn't have an attorney yet. His next court appearance is Nov. 14.
