ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to 150 years to life in prison for attacks in Rochester that killed two men and injured three others over an 18-day stretch last year.
The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester reports (http://on.rocne.ws/1hnPaiv ) that a Monroe County Court judge called Jermaine Johnston "a killing machine" during his sentencing Thursday, five weeks after he was convicted of second-degree murder, assault, attempted murder and robbery.
The murder convictions were for the fatal shootings of 29-year-old Omar Lynch and 19-year-old Tommy King in July 2012.
Police say Johnston had stabbed a 41-year-old man two weeks earlier and used that man's handgun to kill Lynch and King and wound two other men.
Johnston's attorney says he'll appeal the case.
