FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) — Police say an upstate New York man died after his van struck a tractor trailer while approaching the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.
The crash occurred when the truck slowed down, forcing officials to close two lanes and tying up traffic for hours Monday.
Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo tells The Record (http://bit.ly/1gbGxnc ) newspaper the 71-year-old was from Highland, N.Y. His name has not been released.
No summonses were issued.
