WESTERN, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a man who was riding in a car when it crashed into a central New York home last month has died from his injuries.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that 53-year-old Mark Salerno of Oriskany recently died after being removed from life support at a Syracuse hospital where he had been treated since suffering severe head injuries in the Oct. 19 crash.
Deputies say Salerno was a passenger in a car that slammed into a home in the rural town of Western, 43 miles northeast of Syracuse.
Authorities have charged 47-year-old Grace Pirillo of Rome with vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated. She remains in the county jail.
Officials say investigators will determine if Salerno's death will result in additional charges against charges.
