PEMBROKE, N.Y. (AP) — The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident in which an SUV crashed through a house in Pembroke, causing extensive damage to the property but not injuring the family inside.
Authorities say Genesee County resident Jason M. Purdy of Alabama was driving through Pembroke at around 7 p.m. Tuesday when his vehicle crashed through the home's L-shaped dining room and went into the backyard.
The homeowners, Peter and Lynette Swendsen, and their two children were inside but weren't hurt. Purdy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The sheriff's office says alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
Pembroke is 23 miles east of Buffalo.
