EDISON, N.J. (AP) A New York City nun was killed and two of her relatives were injured when their car was rear-ended by a box truck on a central New Jersey roadway.

Acting Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey says 65-year-old Nora Ashe of Brooklyn was killed in Monday's crash on Woodbridge Avenue in Edison. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ashe's 63-year-old sister, Kathleen Windram of Paramus, and her sister-in-law, 70-year-old Patricia Ashe of Edison, both remained hospitalized Tuesday with undisclosed injuries. Patricia Ashe was in critical condition, while Windram who was driving the car was in stable condition.

The truck driver's name wasn't released.

No charges have been filed in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities say Nora Ashe taught at St. Joseph's High School in Brooklyn.
