NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a search of the Niagara Gorge has failed to turn up any sign of a 23-year-old Buffalo-area man who was reported missing.
Local media outlets report that Douglas Vaillancourt of North Tonawanda was reported missing when he didn't show up Wednesday morning for his part-time job with the U.S. Postal Service in Niagara Falls.
State Park Police say Thursday that a search of the Niagara Gorge was started after his car was found in a parking lot at Niagara Falls State Park. Police say there's no indication that went into the Niagara River above the falls.
Police searched the gorge from the ground and the air Wednesday but didn't locate him.
