WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a homeless man is being accused of injuring a woman by pushing her in front of a train at the White Plains station.
Metro-North says the woman, who is in her 20s, suffered a leg injury when she was struck by an empty northbound train just after 11 a.m. Wednesday. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla and is expected to survive.
The Journal News (http://lohud.us/16rKiUX) says MTA police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Howard Mickens. MTA police says Mickens has 11 previous arrests, some for alleged violent felonies.
Mickens was arraigned Wednesday on an attempted murder charge. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
