BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A 13-year-old Buffalo girl reported missing over the weekend has been found dead.
Police Wednesday are calling the death of Lanasha Rollerson a homicide.
The girl's body was found about 11 p.m. Tuesday behind a garage about a mile from where she was last seen.
Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda says investigators believe she was killed sometime Saturday or early Sunday, and was already dead when her family reported her missing Sunday afternoon. Derenda says police don't believe the girl was abducted, but rather left on her own.
Derenda is not commenting on how Lanasha died or when she was last seen alive.
