POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — A 61-year-old Westchester County anesthesiologist has been sentenced to 1 to 3 years in state prison for his role in a scheme to sell 16,000 oxycodone pills.
The Poughkeepsie Journal reports (http://pojonews.co/19EIqo3 ) that Dr. Arnold Roth of Mount Vernon had pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a prescription of a controlled substance and conspiracy charges in Dutchess County Court in Poughkeepsie. He was sentenced Thursday.
Prosecutors say Roth wrote at least 48 prescriptions for four individuals between in 2011 and 2012. The four individuals are alleged to have filled the prescriptions in pharmacies in Dutchess County, where they sold the pills.
