KINDERHOOK, N.Y. (AP) — State police say 8,000 gallons of home heating oil was spilled when a truck rolled over south of Albany.
Police say the truck turned over around noon in Kinderhook at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 9H, about 25 miles south of Albany. The road was closed and a "limited" evacuation of nearby homes and businesses was planned.
Cleanup crews from the Department of Environmental Conservation were dispatched to the scene and a state of emergency was declared for a two-mile radius around the accident site.
The truck's driver suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
