RIDGEFIELD, Conn. (AP) — A Ridgefield man is due in Danbury Superior Court on charges of violating a protection order after police say he took his son to New York after a domestic dispute.
Paul Lupo is scheduled in court on Tuesday, a day after he was charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and failure to have a child safety seat in his vehicle.
Police say the 49-year-Lupo fled with his 5-year-old son Sunday night, triggering a statewide Amber Alert.
Police canceled the alert within an hour when authorities found the boy with relatives in the Bronx in New York City.
Lupo was released after posting $5,000 bond.
A home phone number could not be found for Lupo and it was not known Monday morning if he's represented by a lawyer.
