GLEN COVE, N.Y. (AP) A Long Island man is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl he met online.

Nassau County police say the girl met the 25-year-old suspect on Facebook in July.

They say the suspect engaged in sexual activity with the victim in his vehicle on several occasions.

Tereso De Jesus Ruiz-Hernandez of Bayville was arrested on Monday by Glen Cove police.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday on second-degree rape and two counts of criminal sexual act. Bail was set at $20,000.

He was represented by an attorney from Legal Aid, which does not comment on pending cases.

Police ask anyone who may know of additional victims to contact the Special Victims Squad or their local police department.

The defendant faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
