COCHECTON, N.Y. (AP) — State police have released more information about the death of an 8-year-old Long Island boy in an upstate New York ATV accident.
Troopers say Alex Huertas of Malverne was a passenger on the ATV driven by 31-year-old Glenn Adycki of Lynbrook when it ran into a ditch and flipped at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the Sullivan County town of Cochecton (koh-SHEHK'-tuhn).
They say the boy was pinned until passersby were able to help lift the ATV off him and emergency crews were called.
Huertas was pronounced dead at a hospital. Adycki was treated for minor injuries.
Cochecton is 92 miles northwest of New York City.
