Sentient Science appointed Robert J. Lemen chief financial officer. Most recently, Lemen was the CFO at Impact Technologies for five years. He graduated with an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority appointed John T. Cox chief financial officer. Cox was deputy director of finance for the City of Rochester. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree from Binghamton University.
UBMD Internal Medicine welcomed Dr. Elizabeth Kuruvilla. She received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Domenica, West Indies and completed undergraduate work at City University of New York, Brooklyn College. She is a UB assistant professor in the Department of Medicine.
Wendel an architectural and engineering firm, appointed Dean W. Gowen leader of the firm’s urban planning and design initiatives. He is a Cornell University graduate and holds a national certification through the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board.
M&T Bank promoted John A. Loewer group vice president, where he manages company-wide corporate tax accounting. Loewer began his career at the bank in 1996. A CPA, he received a bachelor’s degree from Canisius College. Also, the bank promoted Ann Marie Odrobina to group vice president of human resources, compensation and benefits. Odrobina, currently employee benefits manager, is a University at Buffalo graduate.
KeyBank appointed Thomas W. Heltz II vice president and senior relationship manager, middle market; Tara M. Lester vice president and senior banker, business banking; and Christopher B. Thomas vice president and manager of Buffalo’s North Forest branch. Heltz earned his bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and his MBA from St. Bonaventure University. Lester earned her associate’s degree from Jamestown Community College. Thomas was vice president and branch manager for First Niagara Bank in Amherst.
BryLin Behavioral Health System appointed Dr. Brian Joseph medical director for electroconvulsive therapy. Joseph, a psychiatrist with more than 40 years of expereince, is a member of the faculty at Harvard Medical School and in University at Buffalo’s Department of Psychiatry. He earned his MD at UB. Also, BryLin named Elizabeth Ladd director of outpatient services. Ladd received a master’s degree from SUNY Buffalo State and her bachelor’s degree from Daemen College.
PLS 3rd Learning appointed Will Ingle senior vice president of professional learning. Ingle most recently was content developer at Adapt Courseware in Pittsford. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Lumsden & McCormick, a Buffalo certified public accounting firm, named Julia Giczkowski and Kelsey Kuppinger staff accountants. Giczkowski recently obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Daemen College. Kuppinger is a recent bachelor’s and MBA graduate of Niagara University.
Eric Mower + Associates promoted Kevin Rush to senior project manager. Rush joined the agency in 2010 as a traffic coordinator. He graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2005.
SUNY Geneseo State named Robin Pfalzgraf Irwin senior advancement officer. Most recently, Irwin was regional marketing director at USA Today. She is a graduate of LeMoyne College in Syracuse.
Uniland Development Company named Joel A. McMahon real estate attorney. McMahon was in-house counsel for Benderson Development Co. and general counsel for Allcare Dental Management. He earned his J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law. Also, the company promoted Erin Casell to marketing communications manager. Casell is a graduate of Canisius College.
