Community Charter School elected Daniel S. Ricigliano president of its board of trustees. Ricigliano, a three-term veteran of the board, is an assistant professor at Buffalo State College and a practicing CPA. Other officers are: vice president, Michael J. Littman; secretary, Tasha S. Miller, Union East Elementary School; and treasurer, Justin Reid, Bonadio Group. Trustees include: Anthony Jones, WKBW-TV; Rebecca Vincheski, Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo; and Sara DeLena.

The new Dog Ears Café has officially opened at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo, where it shares a building with the nonprofit Dog Ears Bookstore. A special grand opening celebration will be held Saturday. Hours at the new café are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. AFSCME Local 182 donated $3,000 to Camp Happiness, money raised from the union’s annual golf tournament. The weeklong event at Camp Kenan in Lockport is a traditional summer camp for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
