A Buffalo man and a Jamestown man are being held in the Chautauqua County Jail as the latest suspects arrested in a continuing probe of Jamestown area crack cocaine trafficking, Jamestown police reported Monday.
Tyshon L. Sims, 22, of Buffalo, and Alex Oliveras, also 22, of Jamestown, were in a vehicle stopped on North Main Street at Jamestown the city line about 5:31 p.m. Saturday by city police and the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team. Both men were found with crack cocaine packaged for sale.
Oliveres was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and felony evidence tampering, after agents said they found he had concealed a portion of the crack haul in his body in an attempted to avoid its discovery. Oliveras also was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after a switch blade was taken from him.
Sims was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Jamestown detectives said anyone with information on the illegal sales of narcotics is asked to call the department’s anonymous tip line at 483-TIPS (8477).
