First Niagara Financial Group named Jeffrey J. Maddigan treasurer. Maddigan, a 19-year veteran of the bank, previously served as senior director of balance sheet strategy. He earned his MBA and bachelor’s degree from Canisius College.
The WNY Women’s Foundation appointed Jacqueline N. Hall director of program. Hall was director of the CAO Masten Resource Center for the Community Action Organization of Erie County. She holds a master’s degree from UB and a bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College.
Independent Health promoted Anthony Montagna to vice president, network contract management. Montagna, who joined the company in 2000, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and earned his master’s degree through the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
Independent Health appointed Peggy Davis director, clinical services, The Primary Connection. Davis was previously the director of health promotion at the company. She received her bachelor’s degree from Niagara University.
The United Way of Buffalo and Erie County and the United Way of Greater Niagara appointed Andrew Bennett account executive. Bennett is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The Roycroft Campus Corporation appointed Tricia Furnari director of development. Furnari was development director at the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute. A Cornell University graduate, she has a master’s degree from Portland State University.
Savarino Companies promoted Kevin P. Hays to director of development for the firm. Hays, previously a project coordinator at the firm, is a UB School of Architecture and Planning graduate.
LVD Strippit named Lieven Decloedt manufacturing manager. Decloedt holds an MBA from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium. Also, the company appointed Michael Stanchak assembly supervisor. Stanchak, formerly with Erie Logistics, is a Buffalo State College graduate.
Chiampou Travis Besaw and Kershner named Sean Pheils a tax manager. Pheils is a graduate of the University of Florida, Syracuse University College of Law and Georgetown University Law Center.
Five Star Bank named Charles J. Guarino senior vice president and director of marketing. Guarino, with the bank for 17 years, holds a bachelor’s degree from Geneseo State College, and is a graduate of the Bank Administration Institute Graduate School of Retail Banking.
ESL Federal Credit Union appointed Bill Freeman vice president/director of marketing. Freeman also serves as a member of ESL’s planning committee and is a member of the ESL Charitable Foundation. A graduate of St. Lawrence University, he holds a master’s degree from Canisius College.
The New York State Court of Appeals has unanimously appointed Anthony J. Baynes to the board of trustees of the New York Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection. The Lawyers’ Fund is a state agency created in 1981 to protect legal clients from the misuse of their money by dishonest attorneys and to promote public confidence in the administration of justice in New York State. Baynes was selected for his years of community and civic service. He is a graduate of Buffalo State College and is the founder and current chairman of the AJ Baynes Group, a Buffalo based development and logistics company.
