ALLEGANY – Amity-based troopers, like troopers statewide, will be working extra hard between now and Halloween to keep roadways safe for both motorists and trick-or-treaters and will continue to make strides against sales of alcohol to underage patrons, Capt. Eugene Staniszewski, Zone 4 commander, said Thursday.
Increased patrols are planned with the thought that increased visibility and enforcement efforts will ensure a safe time for all, he said.
DWI sobriety checkpoints and other driving efforts also will be in place, as well as increased checks of retail stores and establishments that sell alcohol to ensure only those 21 or older are buying it.
