JAMESTOWN – A city man already was facing a forgery case before he was arrested by police today for allegedly paying for a $60 pizza delivery to his home with three fresh counterfeit $20 bills.
Michael B. Gordon, 22, was charged with first-degree forgery and faces further investigation by both city police and the U.S. Secret Service’s Buffalo Office, police said.
Staff at a city pizzeria called to complain after the delivery to Gordon’s home and he was taken into custody about 11 a.m.
Armed with a search warrant, officers found in his home more counterfeit money and computer equipment allegedly used to print the fake bills, police said. Gordon was being held in the Chautauqua County Jail.
Anyone who suspects they may have received a counterfeit bill is asked to contact city police at 483-7529.
