A radiology practice in Jamestown has acquired a medical imaging facility in the same city.
Jamestown Radiologists, the only locally owned radiology practice, said Monday that it has purchased Jamestown Medical Imaging, a full-service MRI, CT and ultrasound provider in the Riverwalk Center at 15 S. Main St.
That follows the 40-year-old practice’s announcement in September that it had signed contracts to participate for the first time in the networks of all three local health insurers.
“This acquisition further enhances the ability of our practice to serve the imaging needs of the Jamestown community and surrounding area,” Dr. Ronald D. Klizek, president of Jamestown Radiologists, said in a news release. “Ultimately, we believe this development will benefit the patients who need our services, which is the mission of all providers.”
The radiology practice, which offers a range of services from simple X-rays to nuclear medicine and interventional radiology, already maintains an office and provides services at 31 Sherman St. and is the exclusive radiology provider at WCA Hospital. The imaging facility offers CT, ultrasound and open MRI technology.
“No issues are more important in health care today than access to and coverage for needed services. With our acquisition, we are ensuring the people of Jamestown, the Southern Tier and northern Pennsylvania will continue to have access to quality services provided by dedicated local physicians,” Klizek said. “As we move forward, we will announce additional improvements aimed at better serving our patients.”
