Mayor Byron W. Brown is set to announce later today the approval of a new right-of-way for the Tishman building, which could set the stage for a new $40 million hotel project in downtown Buffalo.
The Tishman Building, located at the corner of Main Street and Lafayette Square, is being developed by the Hamister Group. The group wants to turn the building into a Hilton Garden Inn hotel, apartments and the company's corporate offices.
The right-of-way would be used for drive-up access to the building, valet service for guests of the hotel and a cafe patio, according to a media release from City Hall.
Brown is scheduled to be joined by Mark Hamister, CEO of the Hamister Group, and Dan Hamister, senior vice president of The Hamister Group, to make the announcement at 2 p.m. at 10 Lafayette Square.
