Touring the Lockport Caves

Buy News photos |

The Lockport caves were built in the 1800s for water power with the Erie Canal. They closed in 1941; then, in 1996, the owners of the property began offering underground tours for the public. Here, people enter the Lockport Caves through a large pipe as they begin the tour in Lockport on Aug. 21.
