Geologist Susie Beiersdorfer sits at the very table that shook and rumbled under her laptop on New Year’s Day 2011 when an earthquake rattled the Downtown Circle Deli in Youngstown, Ohio. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources concluded that the tremor was most likely induced by a nearby injection well used to store waste water deep beneath the surface. Beiersdorfer revisited the deli Jan. 30.
