Buffalo police confirmed Friday that a man found dead late Thursday morning in the basement of a Tonawanda Street auto repair shop was the victim of a homicide.

Bradley Kneightinger, 43, who had recently taken up residence in the shop, died of multiple stab wounds, police said.

An autopsy confirmed the cause of death, according to Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge. Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation. Authorities were called to the shop in the 500 block about 10:30 a.m., when the owner of the shop reported finding blood.
