NORTH TONAWANDA – Painters Plus’ owner Jesse Gooch has selected a family in the third annual Project HOPE (Helping Others Paint Exteriors) contest.
Winner Megan Sholtz, 35, a mother of three, will have her home on Linwood Avenue pressure washed, primed and painted by Painter’s Plus crews, who will be assisted by city officials and volunteers at the event planned for Aug. 24, weather permitting.
Also supporting the event is the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas and local businesses, including Sherwin Williams on Meadow Drive, which will provide the paint, and Little Ceasar’s Pizza, which will donate food and beverages for volunteers.
The project was initiated by Gooch in 2011, designed to help a person or family facing a hardship, including those who are elderly, disabled, facing financial hardship or a disabled veteran.
Gooch said several good entries made the selection challenging.
“This is a great project that helps not only the homeowner, but the entire neighborhood,” said Mayor Robert G. Ortt.
“I commend Jesse Gooch and his volunteers from Painter’s Plus for their volunteer efforts in giving back to our city,” Ortt said.
