Three Buffalo men were separately indicted by a grand jury for bank robbery, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced Friday. Each faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
Jason Berg, 22, is accused of robbing three banks in April, May and June; Jeffrey Turner, 23, allegedly robbed two banks in June and July; and Donovan Devost, 20, is accused of holding up three banks in April and June, officials said.
The eight robberies were similar, authorities said, though the defendants were charged separately. In each case, the suspect passed bank tellers a handwritten note threatening the use of a firearm, according to Hochul.
The defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
