The 25th annual Taste of Williamsville will be held Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. in Island Park, behind Village Hall, 5565 Main St.

The festival will include food and drinks from more than 20 local restaurants.

Also this week:

• The Amherst Town Board will hold its regular meeting at 3 p.m. Monday in the council chambers of the Amherst Municipal Building, 5583 Main St., Williamsville. Topics for discussion include a proposed appointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals.

• The Amberleigh Retirement Community is collecting school supplies to donate to needy children and teachers throughout the region.

Supplies can be dropped off at the facility, 2330 Maple Road, where volunteers will donate the supplies to The Teachers Desk on Northampton Street in Buffalo.

The Teachers Desk has given nearly $2 million in free supplies to area children. Supplies will be accepted until Aug. 16

• Highway paving will take place between Monday and Wednesday on Transit Road in Amherst and Clarence, state Department of Transportation officials said.

Transit Road will be reduced to one lane daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Klein Road and Roll Road to North French Road. Motorists should expect delays.

• Also, the Amherst Highway Department will perform road work on Stahl Road between North Forest Road and Millersport Highway from Tuesday to approximately Aug. 20.

Traffic on that stretch will be re-routed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and motorists should expect delays.
