A motorist pulled over for speeding in the Town of North Collins faces multiple charges – including driving while intoxicated, according to State Police.
Sean M. Campbell, 31, was pulled over Sunday along Route 75 after he was clocked traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone, troopers reported.
An open container of alcohol was seen inside Campbell’s vehicle, authorities said, and his 6-year-old daughter was riding in the front seat without a child safety seat. Both were taken to the Collins substation, where Campbell registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.20.
Campbell, whose hometown wasn’t disclosed by troopers, was charged with a felony count of driving while intoxicated because he had a passenger age 15 or younger – a violation of Leandra’s Law. He also was charged with speeding, and was issued tickets for having an open container of alcohol within a motor vehicle and failure to have a proper child safety seat.
Campbell and his daughter were released to a relative. He is to appear later in North Collins Town Court.
