BATAVIA – The newest health service in a downtown Batavia mall has filed an anti-trust suit against United Memorial Medical Center presumably tied to urgent care services offered by both as an alternative to hospital emergency room treatment.
Insource Urgent Care is operating in a former retail mall that has a variety of health care facilities. Opened a few weeks ago, it is holding an open house Thursday.
A year ago, United Memorial Medical Center unveiled its urgent care center across a large parking lot from the mall in the Jerome Center, a former hospital that also houses diagnostic services, family care and physicians’ offices. United Memorial Medical Center also operates a center for non-emergency treatment in Le Roy.
Details of the lawsuit have not been released. A Medical Center spokesman said only that the hospital attorney is reviewing the filing.
